Julie L. Long, President

    Julie has twenty-six years of experience in the electrical trade and excels in all duties required to successfully contract electrical work. She has held positions and worked all over the United States as a Journeyman Electrician, MIG/TIG and Stick Welder, Foreman, Engineering Assistant, and Project Manager. She holds a Florida Certified Electrical Contractor's license, a Georgia Non-Restricted Electrical Contractor’s license, a Virginia Class A Electrical Contractor’s License and is the primary qualifying agent for J.L. Long Electric, Inc. She obtained, and still maintains, her first Journeyman Electrician and Master Electrician certifications acquired by examination in Virginia in 1988 and 1989, respectively. Julie also holds Master Electrical certifications in Maryland and West Virginia. 
    Ms. Long maintains exclusive management of the company including all administrative and field operations. Her duties currently consist of performing and/or overseeing project management, estimating, bidding, planning and scheduling, contract executions and negotiations, marketing, personnel, material procurement, subcontractor acquisitions and contracts, and project closeout requirements and documentation. 

 
Company History & Capabilities

    J.L. Long Electric, Inc. was incorporated in Florida on April 8, 2008. The company promptly obtained certifications as a MBE, WBE, DBE, and JSEB business entity. The SBA has verified the company’s self-certification as a woman-owned small emerging business for federal procurement opportunities.
    Personnel for J.L. Long Electric is acquired as needed from a readily available workforce of highly skilled and trained electricians and apprentices from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers union. Field supervisory personnel is selected and promoted based on individual accomplishments and qualifications. All employees, regardless of the geographical location of the project or the employee's place in the hierarchy of the workforce, are carefully monitored and held to the highest standards. We support and promote continuing education for all of our employees and maintain a Drug Free workplace.
